PhD Training

The Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) launched an innovative training program for PhD students in 2008. Since then, our training materials have been designed, adapted, tested, reviewed and updated by senior academics from relevant disciplines across Africa, Europe and North America.

Organised in a phased sequence to equip and support doctoral students through their PhD journey and beyond, the program employs a participatory methodology: it is non-hierarchical, multidisciplinary, experiential and based on peer-learning.
